The process to apply for either a Field Crew position or Internship are the same. Because we have a small team, it is incredibly important that everyone is compatible, so the process is a bit lengthy, in order for us to be able to make the most accurate decisions.

Leaning Birch Farm Application
After you have submitted your application, we will review it and, if we feel you may be a good fit, will contact you within one week of receiving your application. At that point, we will call you and have a further discussion over the phone or via Zoom.
If you and we decide we’d like to move forward with the process, we will arrange for you to come and visit the farm and interact with us. This typically takes around two hours.
Candidates who are selected will then participate in a trial period of one to two weeks. At the end of the trial period, candidates who are selected will develop, along with the farmers, a schedule and an area of focus for their work (cultivating, propagation, harvest/post-harvest, etc.)
Candidates who are not offered permanent positions will be provided with an explanation of the decision. At times, a trial period may be extended, if all parties agree it is warranted.
